Less Is More*

In this case, I took the shot of the entire tree in the field first. Then I pondered what was the thing that energized me about the image?

I decided it was the layers of colors and textures, so I zoomed in from 70mm to 140mm to concentrate on the LEAST subject matter I could include and still get what I was after.

And I present these as another example of me thumbing my nose at the rule of thirds.

   *Wikipedia informs me that "less is more" was first used in a poem by Robert Browing long before Mies van der Rohe used it to describe the power of minimalism. The phrase is so famous that has its own Wikepidia page.
